Serati is a folk/soul singer-songwriter from Johannesburg South Africa. Her music is an ever evolving brew of all her influences ranging from the storytelling acoustic guitar based folk to the diverse musical styles of the Africa continent. Through having lived on three continents in her lifetime (US, UK and Africa) and her current travel of her continent, she has garnered a wide pool from which she draws inspiration.
In March 2018 she released her debut EP “Rapture” a project which was produced in Tanzania. The album includes the single “Why Do You Tempt Me” which features a music video shot on the private island of Fanjove by Italian director Simone Pecorari. From the same single, Serati released in November 2018 an EP of house remixes with production credits from DJ Romain (USA), Giorgio Bassetti (Italy), Medsoul (Nigeria) and Lancaster Prod (Spain/Italy).
Following the release of "Rapture" EP Serati went on a three month tour of East Africa. She is an outstanding acoustic and live band performer, as well as a prolific songwriter. Her sets are a mix of original music and covers of the likes of Tracy Chapman, Sade and Miriam Makeba.
